Newport Estate
Newport Estate Exterior Painting Project
Set against the dramatic backdrop of Newport’s shoreline, this stately estate required more than just a fresh coat of paint—it needed a comprehensive exterior revival to protect it from the salt, sun, and sea air. From start to finish, our team approached the project with an eye for detail and a deep respect for the home’s architectural beauty.
We began with a full soft wash of the home’s exterior, carefully removing layers of mildew, mold, dirt, and salt that had settled into the stucco and trim over time. This essential first step not only brightened the surface but created the clean foundation needed for a finish that would last.
Next came the detailed preparation. We removed all decorative wood moldings, exterior lighting, and downspouts to ensure every surface was accessible and properly treated. Peeling paint and weathered stain were thoroughly scraped away, revealing bare wood, concrete, and metal that needed targeted care.
Our priming process was tailored to each material:
- A stain-blocking primer was applied to all wood and metal surfaces to prevent bleed-through.
- Exposed wood received an additional oil-based primer for deep penetration and long-term adhesion.
- Fresh stucco and concrete areas were treated with a masonry-specific primer to seal and stabilize.
Once primed, we applied two coats of premium latex finish paint to all woodwork—doors, trim, and decorative elements—bringing them back to life with rich color and a smooth, durable finish. Concrete areas were treated with two coats of exterior-grade paint, restoring their clean, solid appearance. Even the metal surfaces were given special attention, receiving two coats of high-performance metal paint designed to stand up to the coastal elements.
With the painting complete, we carefully reinstalled all exterior sconces, wood moldings, and hardware—ensuring that every detail was exactly as it had been, only renewed.
This project was about more than restoring curb appeal—it was about preserving a legacy home on the Newport coast. And today, it stands with a renewed glow, ready to weather the seasons ahead in timeless style.
