St. Catherines Church
Bringing New Life to St. Catherine’s Church and Rectory
Perched proudly along a quiet Rhode Island street, St. Catherine’s Church and its accompanying rectory and bell tower have long stood as a place of tradition, reflection, and community. When we were asked to refresh the exterior of this historic campus, we understood the importance of preserving its timeless presence while renewing its strength and beauty.
Our team began by carefully sanding all exterior wood surfaces—shingles, trim, gutters, downspouts, window sashes, and doors—preparing each one for a finish that would ensure longevity to the building’s exterior. Exposed wood areas were primed with care to ensure every stroke of paint would adhere with strength
Color played a vital role in the transformation. Working within a classic, refined palette, we applied:
- Sherwin-Williams Classical White (satin) to the body of the church, rectory, and bell tower—offering a clean, timeless backdrop.
- Sycamore Tan (satin) to accent the rectory’s upper walls, ornamental soffit details, and panels beneath the church windows—subtle warmth that added depth and distinction.
- Sherwin-Williams White (semi-gloss) to all trim, creating crisp definition against the softer tones.
- Tricorn Black (semi-gloss) for the exterior doors—bold, elegant, and dignified.
Each wood surface received two coats of premium finish paint, chosen not only for its beauty but for its durability in the ever-changing New England climate.
This project was more than a coat of paint—it was a careful restoration of a cherished neighborhood landmark. Today, St. Catherine’s stands renewed in its original spirit, a freshly polished symbol of strength and welcome for the community it serves.
